About Blogger

I was born Eric Ebo Sey in the eastern part of Ghana into a large family 'bursting and buzzing' with many siblings, cousins, nephews, nieces, aunties and uncles from both sides of the family (Fante & Akyem(Kibi)). And to tell you the truth, until  I started experiencing the true joy of family over the cost of upkeep, I had always undervalued, misrepresented and criticised the system. Ironically, it is becoming far more apparent now, my  difficulty in trying to explain how I have eventually become 'embroiled' in the big family system. Interestingly, judging from what I grew up to learn, know and respect, I count myself privileged to have been born into such a family, though without disregard to the incidences and failures which did fraught my early adulthood with disillusion and despair.

My early school days were in fact very bright anfull of promise despite having had all of them in Kibi. Those were the happy days when you could not differentiate basic elementary education from the grammar schools the privileged few only had access. However, I managed like most average Ghanaians to complete the requisite levels all in Ghana. Privileged by HIS GRACE, I did embark on successive programmes after a well crafted sojourn in the UK. Yet, I will not count myself as having achieved anything more than what everybody else has, except that I followed my heart to pursue a dying interest in business and entrepreneurship, for which I endeavoured to complement with MBA certification.

I am married with children, to whom apart from God, owe my indebtedness and am proud to be able to dispense them such right (a husband and a father). Until recently, I spent most of my early active working years (does not mean I'm weak now) in UK in different organisations and positions, but took the hard, risky, yet in my mind a rewarding decision to be back home where I belong. To do that was not easy, considering my huge responsibilities and expectations people had about me. However, I knew I had to do it knowing very well that posterity will doubtlessly vindicate me for taking such a bold decision.  It is only a matter of time to find out if it was intelligent a decision after all.

For those of you who are perhaps thinking 'I am nobody', I urge you to please think twice, for I am yet to come across someone like me with a family spawned across continents - Europe, America, Africa and with a wonderful 19 years sojourn in the UK, yet without the wealth to show (laugh). Though, I wish I am rich, I have not been needlessly unhappy for being who I am because  I am full of life, have innermost joy in my family and able to push afar the things I hate most. Thank GOD for that. I also despise arrogance and strive to keep men of such fate away from me.

I will describe myself as a down to earth bloke with few towering interests like listening to Jazz, Classical, Opera, having Golf shots and doing occasional road-work to trim my tummy (you see because of potatoes). I may not be good in all of the above but talk to people who know me well and they will quickly admit without a shred of doubt, my ingeniousness in looking after my kids. I am a people centred person with the issues of people at heart. I tend to drift afar when the issue of people in need are at the top of any discussable agenda. Perhaps, the reason I am still poor may well lie in failing to undertake people studies instead of years in business and entrepreneurship (funny isn't it). I crave the day a government will be kind enough to create a peoples department by presidential authority, and I will be more than happy to work there. (Laugh).

Currently, I run a couple of organisations with the inherent view to avail my self to the service of humankind, though to make profit sometimes. Finally, I am blessed to think that you share my blogging, that's why you are reading from me today. I can only beg your view on what you think we all can do to change Ghana for the good of all and not just the privileged and the disadvantaged because we must also reach the centre for people like me (laugh). Hey! share your views with me here and leave a comment as you enjoy  a few good family pictures below. Bless Ya!! Ebo Sey.
